New T.U.N.I.N.G. system introduced with Season 8!

Season 8 introduces the new Tactical Unique Intelligent Gear (T.U.N.I.N.G.system!

This new feature allows costumes to be equipped with special skills/perks called Tuning Skills!

(While still maintaining the costume’s original appearance).

Season 10 introduces the [Layered Equip] feature.
Using the [Layered Equip] feature, Players can equip a costume that activates T.U.N.I.N.G effects separately from the costume that can be seen on the character.

Continue reading for a more in depth guide on everything you need to know about the T.U.N.I.N.G system!

The T.U.N.I.N.G. System is all possible thanks too the Super Cute Babies invented by me, Mei Hatsume!

Note: you must have the character unlocked in order to use the T.U.N.I.N.G System on them.

*Skillsets do count as owning the character*

The T.U.N.I.N.G System is used to add upgrades to the “costumes” your using on each character and can help turn the tide of battles when using the Tuned Outfit!

Using a currency called “Character Data” randomly collected from battles, you can set different perks called “Character Memories” into Slots on your costume!

Depending on who’s face is featured on the “Character Data” will determine the perks effect!

Achieving “1st place” with an “S rank” in your match will give you the most character data possible.

Note: You can not choose what character data you gain in a battle.

Note: You must set a different Character Memory for each Costume slot, so no duplicates of perks on the same costume in different slots.

You also can NOT set a “Character Memory” of the character your playing as onto their own outfit! So for example, you can’t put a Perk from either Technical or Strike Dabi onto a Dabi outfit.

Each Character Memory/perk has a different effect, and by setting a few onto your outfit you can really improve your combat skills!

And remember, Skillset characters have their own separate Perks and “Character Data” not linked too their original counterparts.

So for example, Rapid Bakugo and Strike Bakugo have their own separate “Character Data” to be collected, and have completely separate perk effects!

And, You CAN use the Perks from both the Skillset and Original version of the character on the same costume without any issues.

(again, As long as the Perks are NOT from the same character that the specific costume is for)

To set a Perk into a Slot, It will cost 50 of the desired “Character Data”.

You can also use “Blank Data Cards” which are also randomly gained in battles, as a substitute to fill in for the missing Character Data!

Adding onto this, if you don’t have the necessary “Character Data”, or enough “Blank Data Cards”, you can also fill in the remaining amount needed with the premium “Hero crystals” currency!

Note: if you don’t own the Character or Skillset, you can still find and use their “Character Data” in matches for their perks,

However, if it’s a character or skillset you don’t own, you cannot use the “Blank Data Cards” or “Hero crystals” to fill in the remaining amount needed for their perks.

If all your Tuning Slots are filled, you will be able to access your outfits two “Special Tuning Slots”.

These can be found at the top of the Slot list, and to set a Perk into a Special Slot, It will cost 100 of the desired “Character Data”.

Set a Perk into one of the Special Tuning Slots and you will be able to use the perks alternate Special Tuning Skill!

You can see the Special Tuning Skill and Regular Tuning Skill listed on the Character Memory, but remember, you only get the Special Tuning Skill effect IF the perk is placed into one of the two Special Slots.

And Remember, you can Unequip a Perk from a Slot whenever you desire, However you do not receive a refund on any of the currency used to originally equip the Perk, you also can’t use the special slot for that row until it’s full again.

Each Tuning Slot has a specific type of Character’s Perk needed, Blue Slots can only equip Rapid Character Perks, Red can only use a Strike Character’s Perk, etc.

Adding onto to these limitations, Some Slots have a “H” icon for Heroes and a “V” icon for Villains, so you can’t use a Villain’s perk in a Slot with a “H” icon or a Hero’s perk in a Slot with a “V” icon.

So a Yellow Slot with a “H” icon can only use a Perk from an Assault Hero Character, a Green Slot with a “V” icon can only use a Perk from a Support Villain Character, etc.

Each Costume, Including it’s unlockable re-colours have their own different combination of Perk Slot types, and with this Remember, that the perks set on one variant of the costume will NOT transfer to all variants of that outfit, each will need to be set with it’s own Perks set individually.

Slots unlocked are also not transferred between the outfit’s variants except for PUR outfits, unlocking a Slot for a PUR outfit will unlock the corresponding Slot on each of that specific outfits Colour Variants!

Locked Tuning Slots can be unlocked using “Slot Unlock Keys”!

Note: the number of Slot Unlock Keys needed will differ depending on the “Costumes” rarity.

The default C and R outfits take 1 Key per Slot

SR outfits take 5 Key per Slot

PUR outfits take 50 Key per Slot

Unlocking Slots 6, 7, 8, 9 and 10 for any Costume of PUR rarity will also unlock it’s respective Aura to be used on all variants of that costume!

You can get Slot Unlock Keys from Event rewards, Hero License, Premium Login or from purchasing them with “Hero Souls” in the Shop.

(“Hero Souls” are earned from receiving duplicate items in any of your Gacha Rolls, Depending on the rarity of the duplicate item you will get more or less Hero Souls)

(Hero Souls are also used to unlock the re-colour variants of any PUR outfits obtained in the Gacha)

Slots have levels, and by using Tuning Slot “Enhancement Parts”, you can level up and further increase your abilities!

The Max level that a Slot can go can differ depending on circumstance, most Max at level 3, Slots with the “H” or “V” icon can go to level 4.

In addition, when reaching the Max Level, a fancy Crown icon will appear!

And if you unequip a Perk in a levelled up slot, The level of the Slot will still carry over to whatever new perk is equipped into that Slot.

Note: The number of “Enhancement Parts” needed will differ depending on the “Costume” rarity and the “Slot type”.

To level up Special Tuning Slots you must use these Special Enhancement Parts.

In addition to this, levelling up Special Tuning Slots on PUR rarity outfits requires an alternate “Rainbow variant” of the Special Enhancement Parts to be used.

Unlocking the Slots that are marked with text saying “MAX LVL” will increase the available MAX Level for that outfit’s Special Tuning Slot! Special Slots can even GO BEYOND level 10 depending on the outfit.

You can get all of these Enhancement part currencies like with Keys from Event rewards, Hero License, or from purchasing them with “Hero Souls” in the Shop.

Oh! and by the way, You may be wondering why the Villains also have access to using my Tuning System, but I wouldn’t question it. Why I gave them access to my babies is non of your concern right now and is a story for another time! Everyone, please do your best by using the T.U.N.I.N.G System to the fullest!
